Meet Kathy Truong
Dermal Science Specialist
Kathy originally hails from Nha Trang, a coastal town in southern Vietnam. She arrived in Australia at the tender age of 18, with a babe on her arm, but without a dollar in her pocket. From the very beginning, Kathy dreamt of pursuing a career in the beauty industry. At the age of 10, crowded together with her siblings in the tiny family parlour, Kathy gazed on with fascination as an older sister applied a home-made moisturiser. She was instantly drawn to the wonder of cosmetics. Kathy watched and learnt as her sister used an extraction technique to transform rice water into a night-time moisturiser. It was like magic, but it was science! She paid close attention when her sister acquired herbs from the local market, ground them into a poultice, and produced a Vietnamese style skin peel mask. The procedure, although rudimentary, followed a scientific process, and Kathy was hooked! To this day, Kathy understands, in a way few others do, the universal nature of our quest for beauty.
